During the Event

What to expect once games begin

Finding Your Table Assignment

After checking in, you will be assigned to a table. Here is how to find where you are playing:

1

Check the app

After check-in, open the app to see your current table number displayed prominently at the top of your event view.

2

Look for table numbers

Tables at the brewery are numbered with visible signs. Find the table matching your assigned number.

3

Check the display screens

TV displays around the venue show current table assignments and other event info.

Table Not Assigned Yet?

Tables are assigned once enough teams check in. If you see "Waiting for assignment" in the app, hang tight - your table number will appear soon.

Understanding Team 1 vs Team 2 at Tables

Each table has two teams playing against each other. Your "team number" determines your role at the table and whether you move between rounds.

Odd-Numbered Teams

Team 1, Team 3, Team 5, etc.

  • * Typically the MOVING teams
  • * Move up one table after each round
  • * Play against different opponents each game

Even-Numbered Teams

Team 2, Team 4, Team 6, etc.

  • * Typically the STATIONARY teams
  • * Stay at the same table all night
  • * New opponents come to them

Check Your Team Number

Your team number is shown in the app after you check in. It also indicates whether you are a "moving" or "stationary" team for the night.

Table Movement Between Rounds

After each game, one team at each table moves to play new opponents. This rotation ensures you play against different teams throughout the night.

How Movement Works

  • *Moving teams shift UP one table number after each game
  • *Table 1 wraps around to the highest table number
  • *Stationary teams stay put and wait for new opponents
  • *Everyone plays 5 games total throughout the night

The App Shows Your Next Table

If you are on a moving team, the app will show you where to go next. Just check your screen when the round ends!

How to Report Game Scores

After each game ends, one player from either team can report the final score through the app. Scores are recorded immediately - no verification needed from the other team!

1

Finish the game

Play until one team reaches 10 points. Remember: you can score up to 13 if someone goes alone at 8-9 points.

2

Open the score submission

Tap "Report Score" in your event view. You will see your team and your opponent's team listed.

3

Enter both scores

Enter the final point total for each team. Make sure to enter the correct scores for the correct teams!

4

Submit the score

Tap "Submit Score" and you are done! The score is immediately accepted and the leaderboard updates automatically.

Quick and Simple!

Scores are accepted immediately when submitted. The other team does not need to verify. If there is a dispute, see the section below.

Contesting a Score

If the other team submitted an incorrect score, you can contest it. This should be rare, but here is how it works:

1

See a wrong score

If a score was submitted incorrectly, you will see a "Contest Score" button on your game view.

2

Enter the correct score

Tap "Contest Score" and enter what you believe the correct score was. You can optionally add a reason.

3

Other team can respond

The original team can accept your correction or counter-contest with their version.

4

Admin resolves if needed

If both teams submit different scores, an admin will review the dispute and set the final score.

Talk to Your Opponents First

Before contesting, try talking to the other team. Most score disagreements are honest mistakes that can be resolved quickly by discussing at the table.

Round Timer and Breaks

Each round has a time limit, and there are short breaks between rounds. The timer helps keep the night running smoothly.

Round Duration

~20 minutes

Most rounds are 20 minutes. This is usually enough time for 1-2 full games.

Break Duration

~5 minutes

Short breaks between rounds. Use this time to grab a drink or move to your next table.

What Happens When Time Runs Out?

  • *
    Finish your current hand

When the timer hits zero, complete the hand you are on. Do not start a new hand.

  • *
    Submit your score

Enter the score from wherever the game ended. Even if no one reached 10, submit the current score.

  • *
    Prepare to move

If you are on a moving team, check the app for your next table during the break.

Watch the Timer

The timer is displayed on screens around the venue and in the app. Keep an eye on it so you are not surprised when time is called!
